Dr. Denaesh Ariyanayagam is a highly respected Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon whose career has been defined by surgical excellence, medical education, and healthcare leadership. After graduating with honors and receiving the Gold Medal in Medicine from the University of the West Indies, he pursued advanced surgical training in Edinburgh, earning Fellowship in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Over the course of his career, Dr. Ariyanayagam served for 15 years as a full-time faculty member at the University of the West Indies, helping train future physicians and surgeons while contributing to trauma education and undergraduate surgical programs. He is also a founding partner of St. Augustine Private Hospital, where he served as Chairman of the Board and General Manager, helping guide the institution’s growth into one of Trinidad’s leading private healthcare facilities. His expertise spans gastrointestinal, endocrine, breast, and vascular surgery, alongside extensive academic publications and contributions to regional healthcare advancement.
